AD – Pr Event
Frosts provided me with complimentary tickets to this event

Is it a bank holiday weekend without a festival happening? Although it’s been some time since I camped in a muddy field all weekend, hardly slept, and drank cider for breakfast, this weekend we found ourselves taking the kids to their first festival at Frosts Garden Centres Frostival; a festival just for children.
Frostival is Frosts Garden Centres first ever mini children’s festival, packed full of entertainment, games, crafts and fun! Each day had a theme, and the day we attended was superhero-themed – which for our two superhero loving kids, was perfect!

When entering Frostival you really got a festival feel to the place, with balloons, bunting, colourful tables and deckchairs everywhere. All the staff were in superhero capes, and were talking to the children as they came in in their costumes – Ivy was excited loads of people told her they liked her Wonderwoman costume!
It felt like a great atmosphere from the beginning, with children running around excitedly, and adults joining in the fun.
In the middle of Frostival sat a mermaid blowing bubbles out of a bathtub, with the stage and deck chair seating behind, where there was regular live entertainment taking place, including superhero training!

Around the outside of Frostival, you found several different stands with entertainment on, including balloons, things to play with (we loved ‘fishing’ and playing with the ice cream parlour), colouring, crafts, and of course no festival is complete without face painting & buying popcorn!
There was no shortage of activities, and even though there were a fair few people there, there were hardly any queues to play with anything – perhaps because there was so much to do, that if anything was busy, you could easily find something else to do!

The messy play area was a huge hit for Ivy, with various tubs full of different messy items to play with – she loved digging in the shaving cream & water beads and putting her hands in to see how it felt!

There was a small tent that was aimed at younger children and babies, with suitable toys and a big ball pit to play in. Ivy had the best time playing in here, jumping in and out of the ball pit!

There were also games more suitable for older children, and our 10 year old loved playing on the tin can alley and hook-a-duck games!

Something that both kids enjoyed was the Playmobil tent – which had so many pieces of Playmobil, with cars, animals, ponies, people, dinosaurs – and more, that you could play with!
We were easily in this tent for a good 30-40 minutes of our 2-hour slot at Frostival, and it’s the longest I’ve seen Ivy play with something before (guess who’s now getting Playmobil for their birthday…). Ivy was also very excited to see a Playmobil character as we came out of the tent!

Our 2-hour time slot went by really quickly, but we managed to pack a lot into our time here!
Everything was really well thought out, with loads to do for the children, and there were several members of staff just walking around talking to the children, blowing bubbles for them, and playing with them – it was such a lovely atmosphere, and genuinely a lot of fun. Everyone who was taking part in Frostival was really into their roles and made it great fun for everyone, even the adults.
It also didn’t feel too busy, with hardly any long queues – just a wait for the face painting where you needed to book a timed slot to come back for, so I really think Frosts Garden Centres got the number of attendees right for this!
We had such a fantastic time, I was slightly gutted it went so quickly – I could have easily spent a few more hours here! It’s one of the best days out we’ve had for a while. It’s the first children’s event I’ve gone to at Frosts Garden Centres, but a friend of mine said she’s been to a few different ones and they’ve all been incredible – so I’m certainly keeping my eyes peeled for another one!
