Now that the evenings are getting lighter I like to visit the park with Ivy after I’ve picked her up from the childminders. It’s nice for us both to be able to get a bit of fresh air, and a good run around helps Ivy to burn up some of her energy before bedtime. One of the parks near our childminders is Crownhill Little Park, which is good for a short visit for a quick run around.

Crownhill Little Park is not an enclosed park, but there’s loads of green space around it and it’s far away from the road that I don’t worry about Ivy running off. The park itself is now quite old and a little run down, but all of the equipment works fine, and Ivy still loves it regardless.

The park is made up of a climbing frame with a slide, swings, a spring rocker, and a spinning pole. This park is really made for older children than my 20-month-old, but Ivy likes to try and join in with bigger kids. Ivy needs assistance getting up on the climbing frame to go down the slide, but she loves whizzing up and down the slide. The spring rocker is a big hit for her too, and it’s a smaller size so she’s able to climb onto it herself. And although there aren’t any baby swings at this park, it doesn’t stop Ivy from wanting to have a go, and poor Chris often gets roped into letting her have a swing with him. The only thing that Ivy doesn’t take any interest in is the spinning pole, but I imagine older children would enjoy this much more.

We do enjoy a trip to Crownhill Little Park on our way home. The park is usually quiet as it’s tucked away in a residential area, we tend to only get 15/20 minutes out of a visit here, especially as there isn’t much toddler-friendly equipment for Ivy, but it’s a great park for her to burn a little bit of energy off on the way home.

I Enjoyed Crownhill Little Park, Where Can I Go Next?
If you’ve enjoyed Crownhill Little Park and want to go somewhere next, there’s another park in Crownhill that’s a 2-minute walk away – it is however a little run down like this one. About a 20-minute walk (or 3-minute drive) there is the Wind in the Willows Park in Great Holm, which has wooden play equipment and characters to play with. You’re also close to Grange Farm and Whitehouse where there are some lovely parks.
