Spider Park, Milton Keynes

August 18, 2021

Milton Keynes has some great parks and we’ve been exploring loads recently. As our local park isn’t the best and is rather shabby and run down, we tend to venture a little further afield to find new parks – plus it keeps entertaining a young child easier!

Our latest adventure found us in the Fullers Slade area of Milton Keynes, in Spider Park.

Nicknamed due to the large web climbing frame as the main focus point, Spider Park also hosts a rope swing, a hanging see-saw, a basketball court, gym equipment and a smaller park for toddlers.

During our visit we didn’t spend much time in the main park area, as although I’m sure Ivy would have given it a good try, I didn’t think she could climb up the web climbing frame! But I can imagine this would be great fun for older children.

It was a quiet morning when we visited, so we got a good chance to run around the green space without crashing into anyone and explore.

The smaller toddler area is located at the back of the park, within a gated area so you don’t need to worry about your little ones running off.

The toddler section at Spider Park contains a climbing frame with a slide and a much smaller rope climbing section, and climbing wall, as well as swings, rockers and a roundabout. Ivy was very happy to have the whole place to herself when we visited, so she could whizz around up and down the slide to her heart’s content.

There is also a large basketball court in Spider Park which I think is a great addition, and when we visited there was a group playing on the court. Next to the court is also an area with picnic benches and outdoor gym equipment.

Also at Spider Park was this colourful mural painted onto the side of a building. It’s a lovely colourful addition to the park!

We had a great trip to Spider Park, I wouldn’t say it was one of the greatest parks in Milton Keynes as some of the equipment is a little on the well-loved side. I do like that there’s a section for older kids and younger kids, so if you’re visiting with different ages there’s something for everyone.

How to Find it

Spider Park is located in the Fullers Slade area of Milton Keynes, the best postcode to find it is MK11 2BB, or use the map below for directions. There’s a little bit of parking in a layby area next to the park, but you may have to park around the corner if it’s busy.
