Recently I’ve started to take my 1-year-old Ivy around different parks in our local area to explore. Recently we went on an adventure to Loughton Horse Park, in Milton Keynes, on a sunny afternoon to play. Loughton Horse Park is a horse-themed park with climbing frames, slides, swings with lots of horses!

The main attraction of Loughton Horse Park is a large climbing frame designed to look like a horse and carriage. The climbing frame itself was a bit big for Ivy, but it’s a really cool design just to have some imaginative play! Ivy liked to look at the big horse and was really excited to see it when we arrived at the park.

There’s a really nice area that’s perfect for smaller kids, which is made to look like a barn – it even has hay bale steps to climb up to go down the slide! There’s a little bit underneath with some wooden blocks to play with, and a bench and table little ones can sit at.

There’s a little horse rocker and a horse seesaw in the toddler area. Ivy loved both of these, and they were great heights for toddlers to play on safely.
There’s also an area for older children, with a roundabout, assault course and a rope swing. I love that the assault course still carries on with the horse theme, and looks like one you would expect to see horses jumping over! Ivy didn’t take much interest in this area, but she is only 1, and I imagine older children would enjoy this more! We did however have great fun running or rolling down the hill as fast as we could!

We really enjoyed our trip to Loughton Horse Park, it’s a fun park to explore! Ivy is starting to recognise animals too so enjoyed seeing all the horses around the park and having some imagination play with them. I really like the attention to detail that’s gone into this park. Everything is within the horse theme, and the park itself is in excellent condition. The park itself isn’t enclosed, but it’s in an area with lots of green space around it and far back away from the road, and although we have a wild toddler who likes to run off, we were confident that she was safe in this park. It’s worth noting as well that this park is in a residential area, so be mindful if you’re parking.
