During our weekend away in York, we didn’t want to make too many plans, we prefer to wander around and see where we end up. And with so many tiny streets with independent shops and eateries in York, that was exactly our plan. While we were wandering around one afternoon we came across The York Roast Co, and that’s when I discovered possibly the best invention ever… the yorkypud wrap. It’s essentially a roast dinner, wrapped in a Yorkshire pudding, what isn’t there to love?!

I went for the pork yorkypud wrap, it was full of veg, stuffing and apple sauce (and normally gravy, but I’m strange and hate gravy…) and it was delicious. Occasionally I find pork can be quite dry, but this was juicy and tasted incredible. I worried that as it was made ‘fast food style’ that it might not be as fresh, or even worse, the Yorkshire might be soggy. But the Yorkshire was light and fluffy, and it tasted incredible.
Chris couldn’t resist either and went for the beef option, which came with horseradish sauce.
The York Roast Co. also does some amazing looking sandwiches, and a roast dinner served in a giant Yorkshire pudding – amazing!
